IBN Leadership Should Post New Details Immediately

Categories: Indiana Busines Network

Authored and approved 12-Jan-2010 by current and recent members of the IBN Broad Ripple Chapter: Justin McKeand, David Bagdade, Bill Bagley, Dave Van Rhee, Vandna Kaushal, Robby Slaughter.

In light of our perception of activity within IBN over the last six months, we feel that a new plan and new model is strongly warranted and agree with the proposal to present this information to the membership.

However, we see no need to wait until January 28th to present significant details about the new plan for IBN. This request comes because virtually all of items in the general outline, such as compensation for faciltiators, improved member benefits, and expansion of IBN into new areas have been promised before on multiple occasions.

The spirit of business networking and IBN has always focused on communication and collaboration. Just as members and guests have always been encouraged to present their ideas openly and request feedback, we expect the leadership to do the same with any new plans for IBN. There is no need to wait weeks for a presentation when, if the details are presented in advance, we can all participate actively at the relaunch meeting on January 28th.

We urge you to publish the details of this new plan immediately. We look forward to discussing them with other members so we can help IBN to formulate a new model that is mutually advantageous for members, owners and the larger community of Indiana.

We encourage other IBN chapters to draft statements of their own on this important topic.

Robby, Dave, justing, Dave, Bill, Vanda and Robby -

We've promised to provide details on our restructure this week and will do so. I can't publish the current draft as there are a couple of details that we are waiting on an answer from our attorney on. That said, we can and will put a draft of the new IBN program online this week so that members can see where we are headed and have input on the program. It's going to be hard to please everyone, but I think the changes will make a huge difference in the viability of IBN over the next five years.

To Robby and the rest of the Broad Ripple Chapter: Thank you for making a strong statement about member participation and taking the lead on this. Speaking for Derek and Eric, we absolutely get the message.

Sounds familiar, stricter control for a desired result... resembles a set up for the way one of the BNI chapters operates based on our experience with the Grand Rapids Michigan BNI chapter.
